HCH AVIATION CHOOSE TECNAM. 15 P-MENTOR TO PROVIDE PILOT TRAINING FOR STEPHEN F. AUSTIN STATE UNIVERSITY

Lakeland – Tecnam announced today that US-based HCH Aviation has placed an order for fifteen Tecnam P-Mentor aircraft. HCH Aviation has an exclusive partnership with Stephen F. Austin State University to provide professional pilot training as part of the university’s flight training initiative. The university has 60 student pilots and will have 110 by the end of 2023. In response to this huge demand, HCH Aviation has expanded its fleet with the addition of these brand new Tecnam P-MENTORs, which will join the twin-engine P2006Ts that are already in the fleet.

The P-Mentor is a two-seat, single engine, piston, fully IFR aircraft, compliant with the latest CS-23 EASA & FAA requirements, allowing PBN/RNAV/AFCS capabilities. It gives modern flight schools a single platform to train students from their first flight, up to their commercial pilot license, and instrument rating. It has a variable pitch propeller, and a simulated retractable landing gear option.

US airlines have committed to net-zero emissions by 2050, so Stephen F. Austin State University’s student pilots are happy to be flying in an environmentally friendly aircraft.

Tecnam Green Fleet.  Based on recent data and industry benchmarks, Italian aircraft manufacturer TECNAM has revealed that flight schools operating TECNAM’s single- and twin-engine fleets can save as much as 10 tones of CO2 emissions for every single student graduated with Commercial Pilot License – a 60% reduction compared to fleets using 100LL fuel on a journey of 155 flight hours, 30h of which on twin.
